10-23-08: Lenz Sports Complex breaks ground. Salinger, Inc to do dirtwork and earth work construction. Universal lighting contract finalized. Lights scheduled to ship Jan. 5th for installation by All Purpose Erectors.

11-3-08: Field 1 and 2 will begin drainage pipes on Tuesday, rock on Wednesday and Thursday. Weather has been great for site grading.

11-10-09: City Councel unanamously approves site plan for Lenz Sports Complex.

11-15-08: Construction is ahead of schedule. Drainage systems on all fields are completed. Field #3 turf delivered and turf installation will begin 11-17-09 on Field #3. Tournaments for June and July on new Sports Complex have been announced (2009 Tournaments). Lights have been scheduled to ship Jan. 5th. Rod Simonds Construction has been hired to begin construction of concession stand.

11-18-09: Turf installation begins on Field #3. Fence installation and concession stand construction to begin next week.

11-26-08: Weather remains good. Field #3 to get infill tomorrow. Turf should be 100% completed by Wednesday. Field #2 seams glued today. Field #3 ready for turf installation and base plugs. All black vinyl fence for entire facility ordered today. Building permit received for concession stand.

12-10-08: We have been trying to work around snow and rain. Dirt work was completed on Saturday December 6. All turf work should be completed by Monday.

12-19-08: Weather has been challenging with much snow and ice. Turf on field #1 is down, but needs a few more days to finish glue, install foul lines and infill the entire field. Concession stand continues to make progress, all fence for facility has been delivered (black vinyl), and fence positions have been laid out. Should start fence construction on Monday. Lights are scheduled to ship Jan. 5th and be installed in month of January. Frozen ground is ideal for fence and light installation. All conduit for lights was burried in November. Irrigation installation was stalled due to weather. Still hopeful of getting rest of pipes burried in January for irrigation system. Decision has been made to purchase FA 21 for warning track. Hoping to install warning track, sod and concrete in early March.

1-8-09: Weather has been great. Turf on all 3 fields is complete! Two HS players work out for first time ever on field #1 and loved it! Baseball outside in January; gotta love it!! Lights delivered and installation begins Monday. Fence post on field #3 are complete. Irrigation system is in the ground. Concrete dug out pads on all three fields are complete. Concrete for concession stand is complete. Construction of concession building to begin Monday. County Line Fence will begin backstop installation on field #1 Monday. Hopeing for more dry weather. First week of 2009 was a GREAT winter installation week. "Thanks to all our great contractors!!"

1-13-09: Light poles are starting to be installed. Should have all light poles up by early next week. Ordered turf for installation of six outdoor batting cages. Addressing construction issues with Parking Lot. Requested Benton & Associates and Sallinger, Inc. to reconstruct the parking lot to allow for better drainage. Concession stand is almost framed up.

1-25-09: Light pole installation stalled due to high water table. 8 poles have been installed and are up. All purpose erectors has pumps to handle this situation, but they are not available until later in the month. Concession stand is almost ready for roofing and siding. Fence installation continues to be slow due to frost in the ground, but some progress is being made. Hoer nursury from Peoria made visit to view the site and begin making plans for sod installation sometime this spring. Weather in March will be the key to completion date.

2-5-08: Light pole installation is complete! Warning track on field #1 is 3/4 done and has turned out good. Back stop poles on field #1 being installed today. Fence work making progress each day. Weather has been perfect.

2-10-09: Three days in a row with 60+ degree temperatures. Warning track field #1 complete, concrete on concession stand complete, Ameren meeting scheduled for Friday. Things are moving along ahead of schedule. If your a team is on a current waiting list its all about the weather the next 5-6 weeks. Think spring!! Hopeing to lay sod sometime in early to mid March.

2-17-09: Dug outs are almost done. Ameren will hook up power by end of month. Trying to get field #1 done by April 1 and Fields 2 and 3 by May 1st. Poured concrete today. Things are moving along ahead of schedule.

2-27-09: Construction was going great up until the rain and storms hit. We are still on schedule to be completed in mid to late April.

3-16-09: Weather has been great. Sod and lights scheduled to be finished by end of the week. On schedule for May 1st opening

3-20-09: Sod and lights are done!!!!!!!!!!! Weather could not be any better. Good chance of being done by Easter. A few Jacksonville teams have practiced on field #1 and have reported its simply AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!! THINK SPRING!
